To validate our resilience, it is not a requirement that our life experiences be compelling, newsworthy narratives or gripping stories of personal courage
and survival. We each have stories that reveal our resourcefulness, adaptability and grit, and they unveil our capacity to emerge stronger in the wake of personal challenges.
At some point in our lives, we each find ourselves in the throes of a challenging professional or personal experiences that really can leave us feeling vulnerable, frail, even demoralized in their wake. It doesn’t mean we went wrong somewhere along the way or was a result of a poor decision, bad timing or even bad luck! Regardless of the circumstances we find ourselves in, it is rife with opportunity to learn more about ourselves, gather tools to tackle the next wave and redesign our future.
Are you ready to re-engage and reconnect differently and stronger in your personal or professional life?
Are you motivated to successfully rise above your challenging experiences and create a different and better future?
Our energetic, inspirational, supportive and mindful coaching style creates an environment in which clients materialize what they desire out of their career and life, create opportunities and move into concrete action.
When Liz indirectly or directly listens to others as she goes about her day, she often empathizes and thinks about the one tool, resource or maybe question that might be helpful for the other person to hear, just enough to shift their thinking. No one, for sure, has ever experienced everything life can throw their way, much less feel the other person’s exact level of emotional distress, but Liz understands what it’s like to be in a sluggish place where it feels like you are stuck in quicksand. You want to fight it off, feel better, get a moment of respite, find a solution and get out, but the more you try, the deeper you sink. Throughout the years, Liz was fortunate to work with gifted persons who helped her and continue to share their tools that continuously shape and help her create her future. When Liz observes or participates in these small albeit not insignificant exchanges throughout her day, it resonates with her, but more importantly, fills a deeper, invisible well that Liz is able to listen to understand, reflect on their words and offer a question, comment or a thought provoking response that might help fuel the shift. Being able to do this on a more intimate scale allows her to work clients and help them arrive to a place of greater clarity and purpose at the possibilities that lay ahead. Together Liz helps her clients set achievable goals, eliminate any fears, counterproductive habits and thoughts that are success roadblocks and achieve breakthrough results in work and in life.
Liz brings over 20 years experience in training and development in Fortune 500 corporations coupled with a lifetime of professionally supported and independent learning, understanding, distinguishing and matching of tools, skills, resources that are best suited when coaching an individual’s challenge. What is coaching?
Coaching is a dynamic partnership between a certified coach and client. The coach is masterful at asking thought provoking and energy moving questions that helps the client move towards accountable action. The coach works with the client’s present, what is happening now and uses all the tools the clients currently has in their tool box and joins them with the coach’s expertise. Together, it sets in motion a powerful drive to propel the client’s future.
The ICF, a global leader in coaching accreditation and advancing the coaching profession, defines coaching as:
“Partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential, which is particularly important in today’s uncertain and complex environment. Coaches honor the client as the expert in his or her life and work and believe every client is creative, resourceful and whole. Standing on this foundation, the coach’s responsibility is to:
Discover, clarify, and align with what the client wants to achieve
Encourage client self-discovery
Elicit client-generated solutions and strategies
Hold the client responsible and accountable
This process helps clients dramatically improve their outlook on work and life, while improving their leadership skills and unlocking their potential.”
What are benefits of coaching?
Coaching is rife with benefits as long as the client is open to stretch him/herself and work hard towards achieving their goals. The ICF reports up to 70% increase in work productivity and 80% increase in self confidence. Additional benefits of coaching are:
Integration of what you learn into your day to day life
Fresh perspectives on managing challenging experiences
Positive shifts in thinking patterns
Confidence to take risks on new ideas and try new ideas
Selecting a coach is a very personal and and unique experience. A combination of competence, chemistry, trust and specialities help prospective clients choose the best match for their needs.
Below are items to consider as you prepare to select a coach.
Unless you are ready to work hard, are open and committed to making specific changes, coaching may be of little to no benefit. It doesn’t mean coaching is not the solution, it just may not be the solution for you now. Timing is everything and feeling motivated and willing to devote time to work towards creating change for yourself are key.
While it is not necessary to be certified, coaches who are certified through The International Coach Federation receive very specific and intense training on various processes and techniques. For more information visit www.coachfederation.com.

“I was at a terribly confusing crossroads in my career and life when I called upon Liz to help me sort through it all. My sessions with Liz helped me to identify the noise in my life distracting me from understanding and clearly articulating my ambitions – both professionally and personally. She became my compass in the wilderness. The process was challenging but cathartic. I can’t thank Liz enough for her counsel and insights over the last two years. Without her positive and supportive coaching allowing me to reflect and dive deeper into the areas of my life that were stuck, I don’t think I would have transcended the issues I was facing.” Liz A. Bergen County, NJ
